A Natural Deodorant That Actually Works (& Is Affordable)

affordable natural deodorant

theWelcome back DIMES! As someone who has been playing sports and working out my whole life, I never really put any thought into deodorant. I knew I had to use it that it had to be strong. I used men’s deodorant because I felt like women’s deodorant was never strong enough for me. Over the years I’ve heard all the talk about switching to all-natural products that don’t contain chemicals, parabens, sulfates, fragrance, etc. Despite all the hype, I never changed anything. The time has come for me to actually take a look at the ingredients in all my products and make the changes I see fit! All that to say, I’ve been searching for a good natural deodorant that actually works and finally, I’ve found one!

Native Deodorant works!

After trying so many natural deodorants that flat out didn’t work, I wanted to give up my search. I thought it might be because I’ve been dependant upon the aluminum in my deodorant for such a long time. But, when I finally took the plunge with Native I was shocked at the results.

I bought the Lavender & Rose scent for everyday use and the Eucalyptus & Mint scent for my travel/toiletry kit. They both have subtle and fresh scents that aren’t overpowering. By the end of the day, there’s little to no wetness depending on my activity level – plus, I’ve only had to reapply for a workout or other increased activity.

I have very sensitive skin and haven’t experienced any irritation from this deodorant! The only negative thing I had to say about this deodorant is that the consistency is thick and pasty, so only swipe make sure to rub in any streaks before putting on clothes.

Overall, no more bumps and no more smelly pits – finally my armpits can breathe! Hands down the best aluminum-free deodorant on the market.

Be Careful Who You Trust

There are so many conflicting theories and studies out there about natural beauty making it hard to know who to trust. I do know is that aluminum (an antiperspirant) has been called out for the correlation to increased breast cancer risk. The American Cancer Society has a great article called Antiperspirants and Breast Cancer Risk. They state that,

“Cancer-causing substances in antiperspirants are absorbed through razor nicks from underarm shaving. These substances are said to be deposited in the lymph nodes under the arm, which are not able to get rid of them by sweating because the antiperspirant keeps you from perspiring. This causes a high concentration of toxins, which leads to cells mutating into cancer.”

More research is needed to truly understand the link between aluminum and cancer. Research on whether or not it messes with estrogen, the hormone that causes the development of breast cancer cells. Regardless if aluminum is a direct contributor to cancer or if it’s only a myth, it can’t hurt to use a chemical-free aluminum-free deodorant. To be cliche, our body is a temple and you always want to make sure the products we use are made of safe and effective ingredients!

Thank you, Native, for creating a natural deodorant that actually works! Thank you for helping me become a healthier and better version of myself! 🙂
