Morning Meeting is, in my opinion, the best five minutes of the school day. When students walk in, they start greeting each other, swapping stories and listening to their classmates. Something cool happens – the room stops feeling like a group of random kids who happen to share a classroom. It starts feeling like an actual community. Over time, those small daily moments build real trust. Kids start to feel comfortable speaking up, being silly, and just being themselves — and honestly, that changes everything.
The sharing part of Morning Meeting is where the magic really lives. The quietest kid in class suddenly has everyone cracking up over a weekend story. Two students realize they’ve been obsessed with the same thing all year and never knew it. Kids get a glimpse into each other’s lives outside of school. It’s simple, but powerful!
The tricky part is coming up with fresh prompts every single day. Have you ever found yourself blanking on a Monday morning struggling to think of a share prompt? Well then you already know the struggle and we have all been there.
That’s exactly where a solid prompt bank swoops in to save your Sunday night. No more staring at a blank page, no more desperate Googling at 9 pm. Grab a prompt from the list and watch your kids do what they do best: talk (sometimes way too much).
To keep things fun and predictable (kids love knowing what’s coming!), I organized everything into five themed days:
- 🌟 Welcome Back Mondays — weekend reflections to ease back into the week
- ✅ True or False Tuesdays — wild facts that spark curiosity and a little friendly debate
- 🤔 Would You Rather Wednesdays — silly dilemmas that show off everyone’s personality
- 💭 Think About It Thursdays — imaginative prompts that get kids actually thinking
- ⭐ Favorites Fridays — easy, feel-good sharing to close out the week
Each day has a totally different vibe so students stay curious and engaged instead of going on autopilot. The prompts are quick, accessible, and perfect for elementary kids — but more importantly, they work. Week by week, they help you build a classroom where every student feels like they belong.
Here’s your Morning Meeting Daily Prompt Bank — enjoy! Ps. there is a pdf version of this list linked below.

Morning Meeting doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. A good question and a few minutes in a room full of kids willing to share is all it takes. Whether you use one prompt a week or one every single day, just know that those small moments add up. You’re not just filling time before the lesson starts. You’re building something that makes everything else work better: a classroom where kids actually know and care about each other.
So go ahead, pick a prompt, and see where the conversation takes you. You might be surprised by what your students have to say. 🌟
xoxo DD
