    What You Need:

    • One wrapped gift per person
    • One six-sided die
    • Everyone sitting in a circle

    Rules:

Each player rolls the dice and follows the rule:

    1 – Keep your gift

2 – Everyone pass gifts left

    3 – Steal any gift

4 – Everyone pass gifts right

    5 – Unwrap your gift

    6 – Steal any gift

Play for 2–3 full rounds or until all gifts are unwrapped.

This game keeps everyone engaged, adds suspense, and guarantees laughs. No awkward waiting, no boring order — just pure holiday chaos and great memories. It’s simple, unpredictable, and wildly entertaining — exactly how the holidays should be.

  • Here’s What’s on the Top of my Christmas Wishlist This Year

Here’s What’s on the Top of my Christmas Wishlist This Year

    Why make a wishlist?

Why would a fully formed adult make a Christmas wishlist and who would she even send it to? Santa?

Great question! I have a running list on my notes app in my phone of things that I see and want. I add to it throughout the year. Then, when someone asks what I want for my birthday or Christmas, I don’t have to try and remember. I will also go back to the list if I’m in the mood to treat myself!

In no particular order, here are some of the top items on my Christmas Wishlist this year:

    1. Hitster – The Music Party Board Game

My sister in law introduced me to this game over the summer and I have been wanting it ever since! We played it with my family almost every night at our Airbnb in Lake Tahoe and everyone had a blast. Essentially it’s a music trivia game. There are cards with QR codes that take you to a clip of a song. Then, the goal is to guess the year it came out and build a timeline of cards. The variety of music from different decades and genres made it fun for everyone!

    2. Pink Stove top Tea Kettle

I don’t have a specific one that I want, but I want it to be pink! A tea kettle that you can keep on the stove top is more convenient than my electric one. I drank so much tea on my trip to Denver because of my mother in law’s stove top kettle.

    3. Apple Watch Band

I have a couple similar styles that I’m interested in. They’re all pink and leather, but have slight differences.

    4. Pink Bicycle Playing Card Deck

This one is pretty self explanatory; I like pink and I like cards. My family is big into card games and I have many decks, but none as cool as this one.

My favorite question to ask when shopping is, “does it come in pink?”

Let me know in the comments below what you have on your Christmas wishlist this year!

    Talk soon.

  • Often Are The Nights…

    Often Are The Nights…

Often are the nights where she lay alone,

Thinking of the life she leads.

Wondering if the purpose will ever be known,

Or if that’s even something she needs.

    Feelings of sorrow stuck inside,

Yet on the outside, a smile.

    Forced, but opened wide,

    A reality she cannot reconcile.

An inside and outside that do not fit–

    A fraudulent case of existence.

A light inside she cannot emit,

    Through great personal resistance.

Who’s to say what to do?

You are the only one who knows.

Blue could be black and black could be blue,

That’s just the way life goes.

It’s up to you my dear.

As the path of life for all,

Is to be in no way clear,

‘Tis something we all must befall.

    She lifts her head,

    And opens her heart.

As this whole thing, she has misread,

For this life of hers has yet to start.

Her feelings she no longer concealed,

    Her smile was not fake.

The truth never need be revealed,

For she was now truly awake.

Often are the nights where she lay alone,

Thinking of the life she leads,

Armed with a purpose of her own,

Outside assent she no longer needs.

  • Some of My Favorite Places in LA

Some of My Favorite Places in LA

Hey Dimes! Alec and I are moving to San Diego and are saying goodbye to Los Angeles. So, I’ve been reflecting on the past few years of living in Los Angeles. It’s been my home since 2017, and I’ve made some fantastic memories that I will cherish forever. I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite places in LA. Visit my favorite spots if you ever find yourself in the city of angels!

    My Favorite Places in LA:

    1. Elysian Park (at sunset or after dark)

Los Angeles’ Elysian Park has some decent hiking trails, but my favorite part of this park is Angel’s Point. After you drive up the hill towards Elysian Park, you’ll reach a dead end with a small parking lot. You can park along the road or in the small lot on the right. Angel’s Point will be on your left. You can see the Los Angeles skyline perfectly and Dodger Stadium as well! It’s a great bird’s-eye view of the city.

It’s a remarkable photo spot and a good place to take people when they come to visit LA.

If you go after dark, you can see all the city lights filling the sky and it’s pretty mesmerizing.

    2. The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens

My favorite part about the Huntington Library is the 120 acres of botanical gardens. There are multiple different themed gardens along the property, so be sure to take a look around! My favorites were the Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, and Desert Garden. You can join a tour, but I like to just stroll around the park on my own and explore.

    The Rose Gardens

The Botanical Gardens house some unusual and exotic plants from throughout the world.

    The Desert Garden

    Bamboo

A day at the Botanical Gardens is a perfect way to spend your time with out-of-town guests.

    The Chinese Garden

    Koi Pond

    3. Central Park in Pasadena

Central Park in Pasadena is a great place to have a picnic, meditate, take photos, or just be in nature.

There’s lots of space for people to spread out on the grass and lots of big beautiful trees for shade!

I threw a birthday picnic for my fiance (now husband) and Central Park was the perfect location for it!

    4. Perch LA

Perch LA is a trendy rooftop restaurant and bar in the heart of downtown LA. You have to take 2 elevators to get up to the 15th floor, where the restaurant is located. You can eat inside or outside, but of course the view is best from the outside seating. I would recommend making a reservation beforehand because it can get pretty busy.

The rooftop bar is up one more level above the restaurant, and it’s my favorite part. Not only are the views great up there, but the drinks are amazing too!

The staff has consistently been friendly, and their overall customer service is top-notch. I spent part of a day with my friend Heather having some lunch, cocktails, and great conversation!

Every time I have someone coming to town that’s never been to LA, I take them to Perch. It’s a Los Angeles landmark at this point.

    5. King’s Row Gastropub

Alec and I have spent many a college football game day here watching USC. Truly it’s a fun experience every time! If you’re gluten-free like me, I recommend the hard kombucha or hard cider that they have on tap!

And there you have it, folks! Those are some of my favorite places in Los Angeles!

I hope you learned something from this for your next trip to Los Angeles!

    xoxo,

    DD
